Disney sẽ sớm phát triển một bản làm lại cho bộ phim hoạt hình âm nhạc “Robin Hood 1973” để phát sóng trên Disney Plus. Đây là một tin vui dành cho những fan của anh chàng Robin Hood quả cảm và nghĩa khí.

Phiên bản mới này của chàng cáo “anh hùng” Robin Hood sẽ được làm lại dưới dạng CGI/Live-action kết hợp, giống như cách mà Disney đã làm với “The Jungle Book” và “Dumbo”. Tác phẩm sẽ do đạo diễn “Blindspotting” Carlos Lopez Estrada cầm trịch. Phần biên kịch sẽ do Kari Granlund, game bai doi thuong ,người đã chấp bút cho bản làm lại “Lady and the Tramp” phụ trách. Disney đã hoàn tất việc thống nhất với Estrada và Granlund vào đầu tháng trước khi chịu ảnh hưởng của đại dịch Corona.

The Robin Hood năm 1973 do Wolfgang Reitherman sản xuất và đạo diễn, phim xoay quanh câu chuyện kinh điển về chàng cáo anh hùng chuyên cướp của người giàu trao cho người nghèo Robin Hood và những người bạn như Little John, Friar Tuck, Maid Marian và Sheriff of Nottingham. Robin đã lãnh đạo cuộc chiến chống lại việc đánh thuế quá mức của hoàng tử John. Little John được mô tả như một con gấu, game đánh bài đổi thưởng ,Friar tuck là một con lửng, hoàng tử John là một con sư tử, Sheriff of Nottingham là một con sói và Maid Mary là một cô chồn.

Bài hát chính của phim - “Love” đã nhận được đề cử Oscar cho Floyd Huddlestron và George Bruns nhưng đã thua cuộc trước The Way We Were. Robin Hood đã kiếm được hơn 32 triệu đô la tại phòng vé trong khi ngân sách sản xuất chỉ 5 triệu đô la.
